Hawk Snatches Rabbit

Rabbits sometimes do great damage to my garden.  Although they can be cute to watch, they are also troublesome pests.  But nature helps keep rabbits under control, as I saw first hand.

I watched one day as a hawk dove from its perch high in a tree near my garden, snatched a rabbit with its powerful talons, and labored to fly off with it. Although the rabbit was a challenging load for the hawk, the hawk made off successfully with the rabbit. The hawk had support from two other hawks, each flying right behind as the rabbit was lifted away.

With the presence of hawks above my garden and the surrounding vicinity, there are fewer rabbits eating the plants and vegetables in my garden.
